Turkey's military offensive against Kurdish fighters in northeast Syria enters its second day, with towns shelled and targets bombed from the air. The Turkish Defense Ministry says around 180 targets east of the Euphrates River were struck. Turkey's President Tayyip Erdogan says over a hundred Syrian Kurdish militants have been killed. He also hit back at critics of the incursion, which he says is aimed at preventing terrorists from attacking Turkey and creating a safe zone for millions of Syrian refugees.
