Thousands of Boca Juniors fans took to the streets of Buenos Aires on Tuesday to wish good luck to their team who are expected to travel to Spain to play the second leg of the Libertadores Cup final against their arch-rivals River Plate.
"We came to encourage the players, to ask them to win on Sunday, to tell them that we are with them and that we won't leave them," said one of the jubilant fans.
The second leg of the 2018 Copa Libertadores Final was postponed last week after River Plate fans attacked the Boca Juniors bus upon its arrival at the Monumental Stadium in Buenos Aires, injuring several players.
The team's departure comes after Boca's stadium La Bombonera was evacuated following a bomb threat, which police concluded was void.
The Copa Libertadores final between River Plate and Boca Juniors will be played at Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on December 9 after a draw in the first leg and is widely seen as the most important game in Argentine football history.
