Bolivian President Evo Morales declared a state of emergency from La Paz on Wednesday, after severe floods hit a number of regions throughout Bolivia.
SOT, Evo Morales, President of Bolivia (Spanish): "At the cabinet meeting, we thoroughly analysed the natural disasters, or rather the floods which are affecting a number of families in some municipalities. Fortunately, not in too many. Also, upon hearing the recommendations of the National Council of Disasters and Emergencies (CONARADE), I want to inform you, brothers and sisters, that the cabinet has decided to declare a state of emergency in order to deal with those families affected by the floods and mudslides which have happened in a few municipalities in Bolivia. That means that we will be deploying financial resources to the families affected by the floods in those corresponding municipalities."
