Brazil has an export-oriented economy and last year their products brought in over $220 billion.

China is Brazil's main client. But when it comes to the other three countries in BRICS, none of them are big trade partners.

“Americas Now” anchor Elaine Reyes met with Brazil’s Deputy Minister of Trade Marcos Troyjo to ask him about Brazil's exports.

They also discussed how being part of BRICS is contributing to the country's economy.

Previous to becoming Foreign Minister, Marcos Troyjo was a professor of international affairs at Columbia University in New York, where he taught a course on “The Rise of BRICS.”
