According to a report by CNN, a wildfire is tearing across a northern California county at a rate of about 80 football fields per minute, causing evacuations and injuries. A state of emergency has reportedly been declared for Butte County due to the effects of the Camp Fire, which started around 6:30 a.m. on Thursday and spread quickly. Cal Fire said that by 2 p.m. local time, the blaze had already grown to 18,000 acres. CNN reports that wind drove the fire down into Paradise, a town of 26,000 people roughly 85 miles north of Sacramento.
