China and the US will hold the delayed top-level diplomatic and security dialogue in Washington on Friday. Yang Jiechi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, and Defense Minister Wei Fenghe, will lead the Chinese delegation, while US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Secretary of Defense James Mattis will represent Washington. The dialogue was supposed to be held in Beijing in October but was postponed at Washington's request. While the focus is on diplomacy and security, discussions on resolving the trade tensions are also expected.
