Several days of persistent heavy rain in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region resulted in severe flooding, causing widespread damage, leaving motorists stranded and forcing the evacuation of thousands of local residents.
Since China entered its flood season in June, southern parts of the country have experienced intensive bouts of rainfall, affecting hundreds of thousands of people and inflicting damage on a large scale.
