According to Reuters, former mayor of San Antonio, Texas Julian Castro has launched his candidacy for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination. Castro, who was the Secretary of the Housing and Urban Development under Barack Obama, is the first Hispanic in what looks to be a crowded field of candidates. The 44-year-old, who was on the short list to be Hillary Clinton’s running mate in the 2016 presidential election, also announced the formation of an exploratory committee last month.
