Immigrants who arrived in the United States as children protested outside of the Supreme Court on Tuesday, as justices debated over the fate of a programme that gave hundreds of thousands of young undocumented migrants protection from deportation and the right to work.

As part of his clampdown on immigration President Donald Trump has tried to cancel the programme started by former President Barack Obama in 2012.

The Supreme Court is due to decide on a ruling on the DACA programme in June 2019.
