At least eight people were injured after a suspected parcel bomb was detonated in the French city of Lyon on Friday, according to reports that cite officials.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the explosion, while security forces cordoned off the area.

According to initial reports, the parcel was left on a corner of Victor-Hugo Street by a masked cyclist.
