Bangladesh police used water cannons to disperse thousands of garment workers demonstrating for better wages for a fourth day today Wednesday, shutting down factories on the outskirts of the capital.

According to local media, one protester was fatally shot and three dozen others were injured in clashes with police.

Police used the water cannons to prevent demonstrators from blocking the road leading to the airport.
