Police in southwestern German town of Rot am See were investigating the killing of six people from one family on Friday. The 26-year-old suspect is believe to have shot dead his parents and four other people. Two other people were seriously wounded.
Police chief Rainer Moeller said the man who is now under arrest contacted authorities to inform that he had shot several people.
"The suspect was in front of the property, and he was arrested there. The weapon was in the property. Four deadly injured people were behind the property, and two inside the property," said Moeller.
Police said preliminary investigations suggest the shooting was linked to 'a personal relationship' conflict. The suspect is said to have had a gun license.
