The Regional Movement Coordination Centre (RMCC) in Kaiserslautern proceeded with their work in assisting the 'Defender Europe 2020' drills, as seen in footage from Wednesday.
"The RMCC is a colaboration or coordination centre comprised of 21st TSC Transportation Specialist, who are managing the execution of the onward movement of multiple US units that were deployed from the United States and to sea ports on the western coast of mainland Europe. And we facilitate the onward movement through Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, up until the Baltics, and then down into Georgia for our summer series of exercises which all make up Defender 2020," said Lt. Col. William Kost from the 21st Theater Sustainment Command.
"Currently we have NMCC representatives from Germany and from Belgium. And in the next couple of weeks, we will also receive NMCC reps from the Netherlands, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, some representatives from Italy and Georgia, as well as from our supporting units - liasons from the 104th Logistics Brigade and from the 16th Sustainment Brigade US. The whole purpose of the RMCC is to identify problems, synchronise movements, develop solutions to those problems, as we monitor the execution of these movements of US forces and of allied forces across Europe," he added.
