According to CNN, the gunman who killed 12 people at the Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks, California had frequently visited the site of the shooting. One woman who had been friends with Ian David Long for five years said, "We would go to Borderline together. He really liked it." Long was a 28-year-old veteran of the Marine Corps who had previous run-ins with the law. Police who entered the scene of the crime found Long dead of what is believed to have been a self-inflicted gunshot. Back in April, law enforcement had responded to a disturbance at the home where Long lived. A mental health specialist with the crisis team met with him and said Long might be suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
