The North Atlantic Treaty Organization was created when the world was divided between the influence of two super-powers – the United States and the Soviet Union. Since the fall of the Berlin wall, NATO is adjusting to a new reality in Europe and, more recently, to a new leadership in Washington. The United States was instrumental in creating an enduring defense alliance but has also been testing it under Donald Trump. CGTN’s Owen Fairclough reports.
