Heavy Rain, Mudslides Kill At Least Eight in Bolivia

Civil Defense authorities in Bolivia reported, Tuesday, February 11, that eight people died after heavy rains, floods and mudslides hit swathes of the country.

READ MORE: Heavy rains caused the flooding of rivers in the departments of La Paz, Santa Cruz, Potosi, Beni and Cochabamba y Tarija. According to reports, about 250 families have been affected by the downpour.

Local media reported that mudslides leveled at least 50 homes. In the aftermath, desperate residents scoured their destroyed homes for belongings.

The annual rainy season in Bolivia begins in November and runs until March. (Reuters)
