Anti-government protesters were filmed throwing chairs on escalators' steps at a Hong Kong mall, in a bid to block them, on Sunday.

In addition, footage also shows the vandalised facade and interior of a restaurant.

The protesters also set up another vigil for Alex Chow Tsz-lok, who lost his life during clashes with police.

The 22-year-old student at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, died on Friday after falling from a multi-story parking garage as he was reportedly fleeing tear gas dispersed by the police during a protest.

Hong Kong has been rocked by protests sparked by a now-withdrawn extradition bill since March. The rallies have since evolved into a wider movement against the government, marked by months of clashes between protesters and the authorities.
