According to a report by Reuters, on Tuesday, the death toll from Hurricane Florence rose to 50, after two people died in North Carolina while repairing damage from the hurricane late in September. Governor Roy Cooper said that after a 47 year-old man died after falling from a ladder while repairing to his home, the death toll in the state has risen to 39. Cooper said in a statement, “Florence cut a broad path of death and destruction through our state and we will not soon forget this storm or the lives it claimed." The governor also pledged 12 million-dollars in state funds to help families in shelters find more permanent housing.
