A memorial was held in Kyiv airport on Sunday in Ukraine after the bodies of 11 Ukrainian citizens, victims of the Ukrainian Airlines plane crash in Iran, were brought back to Ukraine.
Flowers were laid on the coffins, draped in Ukrainian flags, with relatives, airport staff and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in attendance.
All 176 on board the flight from Tehran to Kyiv were killed when it was shot down on Jan. 8. Most were Iranian or dual nationals. Canada had 57 citizens on board. Nine of the Ukrainian citizens were crew members.
