Dozens of people were seen queuing in the hope of being able to buy face masks from Hac drug store in Yokohama on Tuesday, as infections in Japan increase and the Olympic Games were postponed to 2021.

Footage shows the queue snaking around the block, with people already wearing protective face masks, and employees assisting costumers when they reach the entrance.

Japan has also put measures in place, including closing non-essential shops and asking its citizens to self-isolate to slow the spread of the coronavirus as nearly 2,000 infections and 56 deaths were reported in the country.

According to the latest figures compiled from global reports by Johns Hopkins University, at least 800,000 people have been infected by COVID-19 worldwide and over 38,000 people have died.
