The Liwa Date Palm Festival, held from July 17 to July 27 in Liwa, ‎Emirate of Abu Dhabi, ‎United Arab Emirates (UAE), not only promotes date palm products but also celebrates Emirati customs and traditions. Date palms are an important agricultural export crop of the UAE and other Middle East countries and played a vital role as a key source of food for Arabs in the past as they adapt well to the desert. The trees and date palms have become heritage and traditional agricultural symbols.
