The United Nations Security Council discusses the implementation of the Hodeidah Agreement at its New York City headquarters on Wednesday, January 9.

The goal of this consultation is to establish a UN mission supervising the peace deal for the Hodeidah region, which previously was agreed upon in Stockholm. Aside from a ceasefire in the region, the agreement aims for a swap of prisoners in the course of the upcoming weeks.

U.N. Yemen envoy Martin Griffiths and U.N. aid chief Mark Lowcock, as well as General Patrick Cammaert, the chair of the Redeployment Coordination Committee (RCC), are expected to give the briefing.
