Locals were glued to their mobile phone screens on Thursday as 3G mobile internet service was made available in the country, Havana.
Some were seen queuing up to buy ETECSA telecommunication company's internet service, while those who had already purchased the system were spotted calling texting and surfing the web.
Cuban Rafael Canizares was happy about the new 3G option saying "we can access online information in a faster way and now we don't have to go to Wi-Fi parks where the connections sometimes aren't the best and we waste a lot of time."
Isabella Mendez agreed adding though that now it will be difficult for people to stay away from their mobile phones.
The service on the island is now available from Thursday to Saturday.
