According to a report by CNN, on Sunday, a utility distributor said that a 'massive failure' in an electrical interconnection system has left Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay completely without power. Buenos Aires-based Edesur said that parts of Chile and southern Brazil are experiencing outages as well. In a later tweet, the company said that they had begun generating electricity in the Argentine capital and the surrounding area, but that restoring power could still take several hours. The cause of the failure is reportedly still under investigation.
