US Vice President Mike Pence and Polish President Andrzej Duda praised US-Polish relations and confirmed an extension and increase of the US military presence in the country, during a joint press conference in Warsaw on Monday.
"We also discussed the extension of US presence in Poland, that this year we will be able to sign the final agreements concerning the extending of US presence. I hope that final decisions will be taken concerning the locations," Duda said.
"The Alliance and the relationship between the United States and Poland has never been stronger," Pence said. "The United States is increasing our military presence in Poland from 4,500 to 5,500 American soldiers serving here in this citadel of freedom."
"Our two nations in particular have more joint energy projects than ever before. Ensuring that Poland never has to depend on Russia or any other nation to keep the lights on or meet the needs of your growing economy," Pence added.
