A naval parade to honour the 75th anniversary of Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in World War II was held in St Petersburg on Saturday as part of the Victory Day celebrations.

Vessels from Russia's Baltic Fleet, including Smolny-class training ship 'Perekop', Parchim-class corvette 'Kazanets', minesweeper 'Pavel Khenov' and anti-saboteur ship 'Nakhimovets' sailed on the Neva River to mark the V-Day.

Simultaneously with the naval parade, the Admiralty Orchestra of the Leningrad Naval Base performed on the deck of the Aurora cruiser.

This year the traditional military parade in St Petersburg as in other Russian cities was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
