In US news and current events today, New York City is getting an emergency pop-up 68-bed hospital in Central Park to help provide more beds for people who are becoming sick with COVID-19, from the coronavirus. The make-shift hospital is being constructed by an anti-LGBTQ+ group called Samaritan's Purse.

New York lawmakers denounced the anti-LGBTQ+ mission of Samaritan's Purse. State Senator Brad Hoylman called out for the President of Samaritan's Purse Franklin Graham to 'publicly assure LGBTQ New Yorkers that they will receive the same treatment as anyone else at the Central Park field hospital.'
