Warmth was on the way for some American scientists who got stranded on an island off the coast of Antarctica. The group was conducting research at Joinville Island, where a U.S. icebreaker was unable to reach them. They requested help from Argentina, who sent in its own icebreaker and a helicopter. The team was airlifted to the icebreaker and brought back to South America.
