Leader of the Thai opposition party 'Future Forward' Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit held a rally for his supporters in the capital Bangkok on Saturday, days after the national election body called for the dissolution of the party.

Thanathorn, who was removed as an MP in November, donated money to his party and in doing so may have broken electoral law.

Future Forward party MP Peter Pichan stated that the protesters "came here with their own will to show the power of the people who choose the Future Forward party and to show to the government that what they are doing to the party is totally wrong."

Currently, the party has 80 MPs.
