According to a report by Reuters, on Tuesday, US President Donald Trump is expected to pick former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli for an immigration policy position at the Department of Homeland Security. On Monday, Cuccinelli reportedly met with Trump and a White House official claims the announcement of his appointment could come as early as this week. Reuters reports that as attorney general and a Virginia state senator, Cuccinelli reportedly developed a reputation as a conservative hardliner on a number of issues, including immigration. Last month, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen resigned after 16 months of heading Trump’s immigration agenda.
