Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned that his country would "teach a lesson" to Commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA) Khalifa Haftar if he continues attacks on the UN-recognised Government of National Accord (GNA) in Tripoli.
Erdogan made the statement during a meeting of his Justice and Development Party (AKP), after Haftar left the Moscow talks without signing a ceasefire deal, aimed at ending months of fighting in and around Tripoli. The agreement was already signed by Serraj.
Erdogan said, "If the putschist Haftar's attacks against our brothers and the legitimate government of Libya continue, we will never refrain from teaching him the lesson he deserves."
The Moscow talks were brokered by Turkey, which backs the GNA, and Russia, which supports Haftar.
