Emergency vehicles were seen outside St Thomas' Hospital in London on Monday night, where UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been admitted to the intensive care unit over worsening COVID-19 symptoms.

Johnson, whose conditions reportedly worsened during the day, was hospitalised on Sunday, April 5, ten days after he tested positive.

UK's Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, who is deputising for the Prime Minister, confirmed during a televised statement that the government will continue Johnson' direction on the response to the coronavirus pandemic.

The UK has registered a total of 51,608 coronavirus cases and 5,373 deaths as of Monday.
