UK National Centre for Disability Sport, the birthplace of the Paralympic Games movement, in the town of Aylesbury has been turned into a social care facility for vulnerable people during the coronavirus pandemic.

Parts of Stoke Mandeville Stadium including the Olympic Lodge hotel will accommodate up to 240 residents.

Footage filmed on Monday shows the hotel building with workers and volunteers getting ready to admit first patients.

According to Buckinghamshire Council, the centre will provide care for patients who are not quite ready to go home, as well as for those living alone.
