The US House of Representatives has voted to push the impeachment inquiry of President Donald Trump into its next phase with public hearings now imminent.

The inquiry will look at Trump allegedly pressuring his Ukrainian counterpart to implicate his political rival, Joe Biden.

The road ahead will pit the Democrats against the Republicans - and the outcome is far from certain, as Al Jazeera's Heidi Zhou-Castro reports from Washington, DC.
