USA: Republican Dan Crenshaw wins Texas House seat

Republican congressional candidate and former Navy SEAL Dan Crenshaw won his House race against Democrat Todd Litton in Texas on Tuesday. This means Crenshaw will now replace the retiring Republican representative Ted Poe in US House District 2.

Crenshaw attended an election night party at the Cadillac Bar in Houston, alongside his wife Tara.

During an address to his supporters, Crenshaw parried back at the US Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson who had mocked the candidate for looking like a "hitman in a porno movie" a few days before.

"People ask us, you know, are you offended? And I'm like, well, I'm from the SEALS teams, we don't really get offended, but we also like it when comedians are actually funny", Crenshaw said.
