A temporary morgue for COVID-19 victims was set up at the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal in New York City on Thursday.

Refrigerated trailers were seen arriving at the terminal where bodies are being stored before funeral homes are able to pick them up.

"When I see something like this, it reminds me that, if we had the proper leadership, we would do things in a more organised manner and in a safer manner," said Stanley Abraham, a local resident.

According to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University, the US has registered 1,254,750 cases of the coronavirus with 75,543 deaths related to the disease and 26,130 of them registered in the State of New York.
