US President Donald Trump criticised what he called the "impeachment hoax" at a 'Keep America Great' rally in Wildwood, New Jersey, on Tuesday.
"Which is worse, the impeachment hoax or the witch hunts from Russia?" he asked.
"While we are creating jobs and killing terrorists, the congressional Democrats are obsessed with demented hoaxes, crazy witch hunts and deranged partisan crusades," he said.
Trump is facing impeachment over charges of abuse of power as well as obstruction of Congress, but with a Republican majority in the Senate and a super-majority required for a conviction, the president looks set to remain in office.
The US president also touched on the assassination of Iranian commander Qasem Soleimani.
"Weeks ago, at my direction, the US military launched a flawless precision strike that killed the world's number one terrorist, Qasem Soleimani, and Soleimani was responsible for murdering and wounding thousands of Americans and actively planning new attacks. But we stopped him cold."
Soleimani, who was killed in a US drone strike on January 3, was the commander of Iran's Quds Force and widely regarded as the second most important figure in Iran behind Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
