Scuffles between the Venezuelan National Guard and protesters broke out in Caracas on Monday, as dozens of demonstrators blocked an avenue demanding the resignation of President Nicolas Maduro.

Footage shows protesters chanting, holding sings and Venezuelan flags as they faced the police, who can be seeing being deployed in the avenue to disperse the protest.

"Here are the teachers, the workers, the administrative workers, the people are here telling Maduro enough is enough, we want him to leave Miraflores (Government Palace) for good," said Rene Zapata, one of the protesters.

Monday's new round of anti-government protests come two days after the Venezuelan opposition leader and self-proclaimed interim President Juan Guaido urged his supporters to return to the streets as a new wave of protests are sweeping Latin America, including in Bolivia and Chile.
